As you know Hurricane Isaac is headed right for for
SE Louisiana...

or is it???

I'll explain this weirdness is one second.

We deal with Hurricanes just about every year...some come here some
don't.

Mother nature is so unpredictable.

So we pay attention no matter what.

That's what we are doing right now!

Bob Breck, the local weather man said something that really
struck a cord with me today.

He said, "When the public is presented with conflicting information
they don't act."

You see, the predictions, I mean projections for this Hurricane
have been all over the place.

A few days ago they said it was headed for Tampa Bay...nope.  Then
Pensacola...nope.  Now New Orleans.

That's like a 1000 mile difference!?!

Yesterday they said the wind RATE would be equal to a category 2
Hurricane...

Now they are not so sure about that.

Back in the day we had ONE trusted weather man...Nash Roberts.

He stood in front of a map and drew on it with a black marker.

We all trusted Nash.  

Now we have these computer models that predict where the storm is
going to go and how big its going to be.

There must be 11 or more of these computer models.

Get this...

NONE of them agree on where the storm is headed!

The weather people put all the computer model predicted tracks on
the screen at once.

The TV weather people call this the spaghetti screen.

Different colored lines zigging and zagging across the Gulf toward
the coast.

One or two lines are drawn over Florida...a handful hit New Orleans
and others wander over western Louisiana.

Talk about conflicting information!

Because its conflicting...doesn't mean its not helpful!

Each model is taking in the information and basing their prediction
on it.

I might not have paid much attention if there wasn't 3 lines coming
over my house!

This all reminds me of the RV...

Here we have weather GURUS from across the WORLD using super
sophisticated super computers and they don't agree exactly when,
where or how strong this storm is going to be tomorrow.

See the RV connection?

Kinda like this speculative investment...

We know something is coming...the CBI has said as much...

Predicting the details is the hard part.

Like the spaghetti models...as we get closer and closer to the
predicted RV we see the gurus zeroing in on dates and rates.

Yes, some of it conflicts, but it doesn't mean its not helpful.

Everyone is anxious around here.

One thing is for sure...Isaac is going to be an unwelcome guest for
someone...

Writing this email to you has been a nice distraction from the
hurricane.
